In this premier episode of the series, the Savos face a severe financial crisis. John Savo, Sr., along with his sons Carlo and J.Bear, auction items entrusted to them by consignors, and take a commission from the proceeds. But after a run of successful sales, the Savos hit a dry spell, and have nothing to sell. The life of the their business is in danger. The Savos scramble to secure material for their next auction, a not-always successful adventure that takes them everywhere from a rodent-infested condemned home to a large Victorian cottage in the Poconos Mountains. They eventually put together an auction that attracts nearly a hundred bidders, a sale that keeps the Savos from bankruptcy for another few weeks. The Savos land an unexpected gig when a local scuba shop goes out of business. It is a sobering reminder of what can happen when a small company has cash flow problems. The Savos put together a successful liquidation sale that preservers more than $5,000 of the owners original investment.
