When a pregnant junior doctor is found beaten to death in the car park of the hospital where she works, her boyfriend becomes the prime suspect. Mobile phone records put him in the right place at approximately the right time but when his therapist provides him with an alibi, Matt and Ronnie begin to suspect that the pair are having an affair. Then a more harrowing truth emerges, and what initially seems like a crime of passion unravels into a conspiracy involving senior level government officials.
