Jim and Stephanie wake up to hear a stranger in their house, after going to confront the trespasser, Jim finds out it's his younger brother, Mike (Jason Wiles) . He tells him that he's here because he is starting a new business, shoe repurposing. Later that night Mike takes Jim and George out for a drink, only to leave shortly after the bill arrrives. When looking for him Jim finds Mike being beaten up by some thugs and tries to intervene. Doing so causes Jim to be knocked off the parking garage and onto the road four stories below. Here Mike finds out about Jim's powers when Jim is able to walk away unscathed and Mike finds out about the rest of the family's powers as well. The next day Mike gets J.J. out of school early and take him to the tracks. After finding out what he did Jim confronts Mike about why he needed the money, at first Mike says its because he needed seed money for his business, but later reveals that it was to pay off a loan shark. Jim later goes to visit the loan shark in hopes of paying off the debt over time, only to find out Mike owes much more and that the loan shark only takes payments in full. Returning home Jim and George find the lair to have been robbed, immediately Jim suspects Mike and confronts him about it and the business with the loan shark. Afterwards, Mike tries to leave, but not before Daphne hugs him good-bye to see that he was seeing an ultrasound of his pregnant girlfriend at the time of the robbery.
